July News Update

We have two important matters that we thought we should like to share with our supporters

Firstly we have need for a new Treasurer from the end of September. Our current treasurer is standing down as her second baby is due, and we are struggling to find a replacement.  Ideally we could do with someone in the Bucks area to be able to liaise easily with our Chairman, Dennis, but we can probably manage if they are from a different location.  Indeed if anyone is interested in serving as a Trustee in any role we would love to explore the opportunities with you.  Our charity officers and Trustees normally serve for a minimum of 3 years so we are constantly looking to find supporters who are willing to serve the charity in this way.

 

Secondly Dennis, his wife Alison, and perhaps one other Trustee are planning to visit our projects in Western Uganda probably in early November, or maybe late October. Unfortunately there has been some recent fighting in the Kasese area and right now it is not safe to travel.  Please see the BBC news website for more information http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-28185349. Your prayers for this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming matters are resolved before too long, we would be delighted to take maybe 2 or 3 supporters with us, especially if you have never been before.  You would need to cover your own costs for airfare, travel and accommodation plus some spending money. You may think you have no talent to take on such a trip, but from our point of view we are pleased if you can just come for the experience and then tell others about it. If you are not able to come you may know of others in your churches or circle of friends who would value the opportunity.  We would like to book flights as soon as we can be sure it's safe to travel again. So we are keen to hear from you as soon as possible if you are interested in visiting the projects with us.
